Welcome to Our School

Hello, Okemos! Tutor Time of Okemos opened its doors in March 1999 as a daycare and preschool, close to East Meadows Park. Our school's accreditation comes from NAEYC. You will find staff here who hold CPR and First Aid certifications.

Our school offers Infants, Toddlers, Twos, Early Preschool, Preschool, Pre-K, and Before and After School Care. Families can also use Drop-in Care, Part-time schedules, and School Breaks. Our state-funded program is MI Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), and we are happy to answer your questions. We are glad to accept third-party child care assistance, so bring questions to your tour. During summer break, children can enjoy Wondercamp's outdoor play and weekly themes like Wonders of Art. Babies explore through Learn from the Start®, and Learn as We Grow® for Toddlers through Pre-K turns curiosity into learning, like Pre-K children creating and racing wind-powered machines.

Children can join Soccer, which teaches teamwork and soccer skills with friends. Ask about bussing with Bennett Woods, Hiawatha Elementary, and Okemos Public Montessori. Stop by our Discovery room, a STEAM lab, when you visit. Children head outside to a playground that is separated by age. SproutAbout® helps you feel part of the day with real-time photos, video, and care updates, and livestreaming video provides a look inside the classroom.

Director

As a child I wanted to grow up to become a teacher. During my time at Western Michigan University, I quickly realized that I loved to teach, but also coach and mentor others as well. I was hired at Tutor Time (Portage, MI) in 2015, moved to Lansing in 2019 to become the director at Childtime until it's doors closed in 2021. I then transferred to Tutor Time in Okemos in 2021 to take on the director role. As a team, we are dedicated to ensure that all children are safe and given the best care.

Safety and comfort come first in our Infants Program, where Primary Caregivers offer your little one personalized attention. Learn from the Start™, our exclusive milestone-based curriculum, guides every experience, from sensory play to early language and motor skill building. The classroom is designed with everything teachers need at their fingertips, so they can stay by your baby’s side. Sensory pools and mats, activity gyms, and other age-appropriate toys and materials engage all five senses, inspiring curiosity and exploration in a safe space. With a maximum teacher-child ratio of 1:4, your baby always feels the love and attention they need. Diapers and wipes are also included, giving families one less thing to worry about each day.

How is tuition billed at Tutor Time of Okemos, and what payment options are available?

At Tutor Time of Okemos, tuition is billed weekly. As part of the registration process, an account will be created for you in our online Family Link portal, where you can conveniently manage and make tuition payments.

Outdoor exploration happens more than once a day, weather permitting, giving children time to run, climb, jump, and explore nature. These experiences encourage curiosity, movement, and a connection with the world around them.

What immunization requirements does Tutor Time of Okemos have?
