Reaching Your Child’s Milestones

In this classroom, we nurture this age group’s developing independence through meaningful, sensory-based activities.

Our daily routine includes both individual and group experiences. Your child develops social skills when working alongside classmates, for example, when creating a giant block structure. Sharing books, singing songs, and engaging finger plays also enhance the day.

Classrooms feature designated areas for playing, learning, sleeping, eating, and diapering, as well as general areas that meet your child’s need to:

  • Move: Here children can crawl, climb, jump, dance, and play games. This increases physical coordination skills and is a way young children make connections in their brains.
  • Explore & Express: We encourage sensory exploration and creative expression. Children experiment with crayons, paint, water, sand, and modeling dough.
  • Relax: Classrooms are quiet, cozy places where children and teachers can read books, tell stories, or have conversations. This reduces emotionally overwhelming social situations that could result in behavioral issues.

Learn from the Start

For our Twos classroom, Learn from the Start™ is our exclusive, milestone-focused approach to child care and early education, driven by key developmental milestones specific to toddlers and 2-year-olds.

We’ll help your child understand routines and offer activities to develop emerging mental and physical coordination skills. For toddlers and 2-year-olds, small-group experiences introduce collaborative learning in a comprehensive program focused on:

  • Cognitive development
  • Language development and communication
  • Physical development and health
  • Social and emotional development

Lesson plans are customized to the unique needs and strengths of the children in that class, while the classroom is designed to provide a comforting, stimulating environment.

Learn as We Grow: Early Preschool

For Early Preschool learners, our indicator-based curriculum, Learn as We Grow, has been specially designed to meet the needs of 30- to 42-month-old children preparing for Preschool, by building the routines and self-help skills all independent learners need!

Building on the foundation of Learn from the Start, Learn as we Grow features three important focus areas of content:

  • Understanding Routines and Transitions
    • Picture schedules offer children visual clues to find structure in their day.
    • Transition fans are fun, creative ways for children to move between activities.
    • Teacher transition tools support learning and children’s need for solid routines.
  • Developing Independence
    • “I Can” posters encourage children to learn about responsibilities.
    • Other signs and posters explore conflict resolution and behavior expectations.
  • Learning Through Experiences
    • Large- and small-group learning experiences are intentionally planned by teachers, based on observation and assessment of each child’s needs.
    • Storytime cards focus on strong oral language and early literacy exposure, with literacy tips on Oral Language, Concepts of Print, and Understanding Stories.
