At Tutor Time, our approach to child care is based on our strongly held belief that all children are intelligent. Our Whole Child Education approach provides what we believe are the best ways to nurture and develop that intelligence: hands-on, active learning and opportunities for self-expression and peer relationships.
There are, in fact, eight different ways to be intelligent, and our exclusive Tutor Time® LifeSmart™ curriculum is designed to develop each of these ways. It’s a curriculum that’s aligned with standards set forth by national accrediting associations and strives to make every child:
- WordSmart: Capable of reading, writing and telling stories
- MathSmart: Capable of logical thinking, patterns and numbers
- BodySmart: Capable of expressing one’s body through movement and physical activity
- DesignSmart: Capable of visualizing, building, drawing and design
- MusicSmart: Capable of rhythm, singing and creating music
- NatureSmart: In tune with the natural world and living things
- PeopleSmart: Capable of working in groups, being sensitive to others, leadership
- MeSmart: In touch with personal feelings and thoughts
Our classrooms are not typical child care environments. They feature different learning centers full of ways for children to explore and investigate all the ways they are smart. They also are designed to build problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. To make sure all children have the tools they need to grow and develop into the leaders of tomorrow, Tutor Time teachers also supplement these experiences with large and small group activities.
Real results
Tutor Time is effective. And you don’t have to take our word for it. Tutor Time is one of the few early-education providers that conduct formal assessments of their child care curricula. These assessments indicate that children attending Tutor Time make substantial gains in their learning and development, and have the educational skills needed for success in Kindergarten and beyond. Infant Day Care
(6+ weeks)
Infants need cooing and cuddling. They need one-on-one time with their caregiver. They need to feel safe and loved. And that’s exactly what our teachers provide. Infants also need to move and explore, and that’s what our classroom spaces provide. They encourage the kind of exploration that promotes cognitive, physical, social-emotional and language development in infants. Our teachers provide opportunities for every child’s development and are passionate about your baby’s advancement and growth. Our StartSmart curriculum is specially designed to promote your child’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development.

Toddler Day Care
(12-24 months)
Toddlers use their bodies, their senses and their emerging problem-solving skills to learn about and make sense of their world. At Tutor Time, we help them do that in the ways most meaningful and effective for them. And we have lots of ways, from “Five little monkeys jumping on the bed!” during Morning Circle Time to the daily exploration of Active Investigation Time. Toddlers are bundles of energy and we make sure your toddler is using that energy in productive ways by balancing individual attention with group experiences. And we feature StartSmart, a curriculum specially designed to promote your toddler’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development.

Twaddler Day Care

We call 2-year-olds Twaddlers. And our Whole Child curriculum was created just for them. Its active, sensory-based program provides all the guidance and opportunities for the independence that this age group needs. Our StartSmart curriculum promotes your child’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development. Our classrooms offer your toddler a safe and empowering environment.

Prepper Day Care
(30-36 months)
Preppers are children in the process of transitioning from toddler to preschool student. This is the time when the right early preschool education will set him or her up for success in Kindergarten and beyond. Our StartSmart curriculum promotes your child’s cognitive, social-emotional and physical development. Our classrooms offer your toddler a safe and empowering environment.

Preschool
(3-4 years)
It's time to prepare not just for success in Kindergarten, but for success in school and life beyond. That’s what our Preschool program is designed to do. It uses the wide variety of activities found in our LifeSmart™ curriculum to help your child master important skills. Children read and share original stories in the Language Center. They build models and towers. They go shopping in our Tutor Towne™ Village. They examine feathers during a Nature Circle Time.

Pre-Kindergarten
(4-5 years)
Our LifeSmart™ curriculum gives children the cognitive, social and emotional skills they’ll need for the next big step: Kindergarten. The Tutor Time® LifeSmart™ curriculum is based on extensive research and inspired by the work of renowned child development and early-education experts. The curriculum is aligned with established math, literacy, science, creative arts and social science learning standards. We also feature programs such as Word of Mouth,™ BigBook/Little Reader,™ and Family Newsletters™ that teach your child letters and words in ways that are meaningful and engaging.

Private Kindergarten
(5-6 years)
Our Private Kindergarten program gives children the special attention they need at this critical time in their life. Our small, safe and secure environment gives your child a real sense of belonging. The curriculum is aligned with, and even goes beyond, guidelines set forth by national accrediting associations. It’s the result of extensive research and based on the theories of child development expert Howard Gardner. We also feature our famous LifeSmart™ Curriculum, which encourages Kindergarteners to explore and discover the eight different ways they can be “Smart.”

Before & After School
(6-12 years)
Tutor Time’s Before- and After-School child care programs are the perfect complement to our formal education. They offer engaging and fun learning experiences, the guidance of experienced teachers, and the freedom and structure school-age children need for independent exploration, all in a safe and secure environment. Activities are based on The Adventure Club curriculum, a program that provides a wide range of experiences such as weekly investigations of an interesting and fun topic, and songs and chants to help develop rhythm. And high-quality chapter books and new materials are rotated in every week to keep things fresh and inviting.
