Welcome to Tutor Time of Farmington Hills! My name is Hillary, and I am the school director. I have a bachelor’s degree in family and community services with an emphasis on child development.
I run this school like everyone involved is an extension of my own family — the children, parents and teachers. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment and maintain an open-door policy for anyone who would like to talk.
My staff and I work hard to build strong relationships with all of our families, and we plan many events to allow everyone an opportunity to participate as much as possible, including Parents’ Night Out, Dinner on the Go and Family Open House, as well as opportunities in the classroom and on field trips.
One of the nicest rewards came in the form of a phone call, completely out of the blue from a parent who just wanted us to know how happy she and her children were at our school. She said her children had been at other schools and never felt as happy and secure as she does with us and our staff. It made my day!
I am committed to our school, which is accredited with NECPA, and so are my teachers. All of our lead teachers have degrees in early childhood education in addition to classroom experience, and more than half have been here at least three years. Why Us
Our building has separate rooms for each age group to foster a nurturing learning environment. The Tutor Towne™ Village promotes creative and cooperative play in an indoor setting and also houses all our enrichment classes. One of the unique features of our school is a large grassy outside area with beautiful natural surroundings.
Because security is a priority, our school is equipped with a biometrics security system. Those who don’t have access must present identification to a member of management. All of our doors leading out to the playground remain locked at all times.
Our Programs
The proprietary LifeSmart™ curriculum at Tutor Time is based on the idea that every child is smart. It was created on Howard Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences.
Each of our age-appropriate classrooms is full of ways for kids to explore and investigate ― helping to build problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Our curriculum gives children the tools they’ll need to grow and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.
Infant Program:
We are committed to providing a warm, stimulating environment for our children. The teachers listen and respond to your baby’s needs in our full- or part-time program. Extracurricular activities include Spanish and music.
Toddler/Twaddler/Prepper Program:
Our classrooms offer a variety of daily theme-related activities to ensure that children are gaining knowledge in ways that are meaningful to them. Extracurricular activities include Spanish and music. Part-time options are available.
Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Program:
Many children attend full-day, but we also have a morning and an afternoon preschool program. We partner with the local schools to ensure children are kindergarten-ready. Extracurricular activities include dance, gymnastics and Spanish.
School-Age Program:
During the school year, we focus on providing homework support and fun for our school-age children. Our teachers are well-prepared and able to provide assistance in all subjects.
