View of front entrance to Tutor TimeThank you for visiting Tutor Time of Austin! My name is Christine, and I am the Director of our amazing school. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and more than 15 years of experience in early education and child care. I am confident that I have what it takes to run one of the best schools in our community. I am dedicated to our families, children and staff members. I love the relationships we form with our families and staff. It is an honor to be a part of the children’s learning process and I get special pleasure watching them grow every day.

We have an exceptional staff. All our lead teachers have their CDA or a four year degree and most with an Early Childhood Education focus. It’s a pleasure to work with such a talented group of educators.

We’re very proud of our facility. Our classrooms are large and roomy, and we have a gross-motor skills room that the infants through toddlers really enjoy. We have a computer lab with eight computers in our school-age room. The school-age room is very spacious with a foosball table, Wii game area and a snack/homework bar. We even have a homework booth. Each classroom is homey, comfortable, safe and secure.

Our playground is huge and is divided into four playgrounds: infant, toddler, preschool and school-age. All play areas have wonderful trees and offer a natural environment. Our covered back porch is a shady place to play

We have a biometric security system — all doors stay locked at all times with internal access only. We require IDs for anyone we have not met before. Each child is clocked in and out with three different methods. Head counts are a part of the daily routines in each classroom.

Schedule a tour of our wonderful daycare facility today and come find out why we believe that we’re the premier early childhood educator in Austin, TX.

Why Us

Two children playing together in the classroomOur teachers are truly connected to each and every child and they build long-lasting relationships with our families. They understand the trust our families place in us every day and take their responsibilities as caregivers very seriously.

Our chef has been with the school since we opened. She has her culinary certificate and she can disguise vegetables in many different ways. The children love her cooking. All of our breads, crackers and pasta products are wheat and/or whole grain. Our chef wants the children to eat healthy and enjoy it.

We love having our parents get involved with our school. We hold a Parents’ Night Out, and there will be several opportunities for parents to go on field trips during the summer and the school year.

Our Programs

Teacher and children playing together at a table in the classroomThe proprietary LifeSmart™ curriculum at Tutor Time is based around the idea that every child is smart. It was created around Howard Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligences.

Each of our age-appropriate classrooms is full of ways for kids to explore and investigate — helping build problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Our curriculum gives children the tools they’ll need to grow and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.

Infant Program:

Infants are constantly growing, learning and changing. So between the cooing and cuddling, our teachers delight in your babyʼs every advancement and provide endless opportunities for development and discovery. From rocking and thoughtful interaction, to storytime and naptime, to singing and talking, Tutor Time teachers provide just what your baby needs, all in a safe, clean, healthy environment. They are all certified in CPR and first aid, they all have several years of experience, and they have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and/or a degree in Early Childhood Education. A part-time program is available.

Toddler / Twaddler / Prepper Program:

Our toddler rooms are set up like a miniature preschool room — very homey, inviting and safe. Our toddler teachers have 10 years of combined experience. Our toddlers have so much fun and they learn all day through their experiences in and out of the classroom. Part-time programs are available.

As a Prepper, your child is transitioning from a toddler to a preschool student. Chatting with friends increases verbal and social skills. Solving shape puzzles strengthens problem-solving skills, while drawing and painting nurture creativity. Prepper teachers work to foster self-esteem during one-on-one journal time and in group activities. As preparation for moving into our exclusive Tutor Time® LifeSmart™ preschool curriculum, we introduce one concept at a time, so your child feels proud, not frustrated. Because this curriculum recognizes that there are many different ways to be smart, your child will learn to love learning. And that means your Prepper will really be prepared.

Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten Program:

Our goal for children is to build a solid foundation for them to start Kindergarten. Aligned with standards set forth by national accrediting associations, our curriculum helps children expand on their own unique gifts or “smarts.” And it works: a recent kindergarten readiness study showed that in just six months, children in our program made educational gains usually expected after a full year.

Each teacher has adopted that as his or her goal as well. Our Pre-Kindergarten teacher is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and taught in China for three years. Both programs are full of fun, exciting learning. We work very hard to help the children with social skills that they will need in kindergarten. To help keep track of your child’s progress, parent/teacher conferences are scheduled.

Extracurricular activities include Stretch-n-Grow, Art and Soul, computer classes and KinderDance. Part-time programs are available.

School-Age Program:

During the school year we offer support for the children with homework. That is very important to our families, and therefore it is important to us. We have a computer lab that can be used by all age groups with supervision. Extracurricular activities include Stretch-n-Grow, Soccer Shots and KinderDance. Our summer camp starts the first week of June.

We transport to the following area schools:

  • Canyon Creek
  • Grandview Hills
  • River Place
  • Holy Family

Testimonials

As a first time mother, going back to work and dropping my child off with strangers took some getting used to. I was naturally suspicious and judged every move the teachers made. The staff tried their best to make me feel comfortable, and I never felt like they were getting irritated with me. Yes, I was the ‘drop in’ Mom for the first few months. I wanted to see what was going on when they weren’t expecting me. I can honestly say, I was relieved each time.. My girl is now 9 months old and LOVES going to “school” at Tutor Time (Canyon Creek). The staff calls her by name when we walk in and they show SO much love and care for her. Ms. Kara and her Infant Room One staff are WONDERFUL! They stay on my baby’s schedule and are patient with her if she’s fussy. Also, I recently changed jobs and the school is now out of my way, but I don’t care. I’ll wake up a little earlier to make sure she gets to hang out with Ms. Kara, Ms. Manda, Ms. Lindsey and the rest of the gals at Infant Room!

Tutor Time Canyon Creek has a wonderful learning program for children. The teachers and staff have a true gift and talent in teaching and developing young children. Tutor Time’s program allows children to learn and explore through various activities: reading, art, music, dance, and center play areas. Our toddler started Tutor Time when she was seventeen months old and it has been a joy to see her excited to go to school to play with her teacher and friends, which has been a vital part of her growth and development. The Tutor Time teachers and staff are patient and loving with children and able to engage them in a variety of activities that provide fun, challenge and learning opportunities.

The brand new Tutor Time at Canyon Creek is just fantastic. It is by far the most well designed, well equiped preschool and child care center I have ever seen. Both of my kids (4 1/2 and 17 months) attend Tutor Time and I couldn’t be happier. All of the Pre-K teachers are certified and I have no doubt that my son will be more than prepared for kindergarten, he has learned so much already and he loves it! The toddler teachers are so caring and nurturing, I am so comfortable leaving my daughter with them! The owner and director are also terrific. I have nothing but great things to say about this fantastic school!

Tutor Time in Canyon Creek is the best of the best when it comes to child care centers. We have three children, so we have had our share of daycare centers. We can’t say enough positive things about Tutor Time. Our youngest, a toddler, attended Tutor Time full-time and our oldest two attended the after care program. All 3 kids loved their teachers, the warm and inviting atmosphere and the leveled playgrounds for different age groups. We felt perfectly at ease at work knowing our children were well-cared for. The teachers are trained, organized and very loving. We had to move out of Austin for job reasons and really miss the teachers and the center. We have yet to find a daycare that comes close to the quality of care our kids received at Tutor Time in Canyon Creek. Plus, it’s a gorgeous center inside and out.

I cannot give this place enough stars. The owner has taken a franchise operation and made it her own labor of love. The franchise name should be changed to Tamara’s. She nestled this wonderful center into a hillside with lots of trees surrounding the area. Its a beautiful playground area. My little girl fell in love with it instantly.

The classrooms are spacious, bright and engaging with multiple areas for the children to engage in educational activities as groups or on an individual basis, as is appropriate for the child at that time. This is much closer to a montessori setting than you would expect and it is probably due to the fact that the owner has hired well experienced and educated teachers, not just babysitters. The student/teacher ratio is much lower than many other places. I also love some of the ideas for character building. They are extremely effective without being militaristic or over-disciplinary. (Ask about the King/Queen for a day activity).

Administratively/Security wise, I could not deal with nicer, more helpful people. These are people who are running a service-oriented business and have not forgotten the service. They are truly kind and caring. Security measures are electronic and state of the art. You won’t worry for a second when you drop your child off in the morning. Price is extremely reasonable.

Thank you, TutorTime, for providing my new kindergartener with a safe, fun, beautiful place to spend time after school. Thanks, too, for the top-notch computer lab! My daughter’s computer skills have really taken off since joining the TutorTime family!

Tutor Time has a very good staff. I receive the support and concern I need with various problems. It is very clean, the staff is age appropriate and most importantly, my girls wake up ready to go to school in the mornings.
