Student Work
We approach art projects a little differently. Instead of teaching the same craft to every child — and every child ending up with the same result — we focus on facilitating the process of creating art. Below is a sampling of work from real Tutor Time students.

When invited to create with a variety of materials, students are encouraged to try different methods to solve a problem. Like this caterpillar, which was created with foam strips and pipe cleaners.

Teachers lead conversations about the project, encouraging children to reflect on and learn from the creation process. As a result, children learn more than when a teacher leads a craft.

Our teachers facilitate the art experience, inviting students to create with a variety of materials and tools. For example, these bugs were created with egg cartons and markers.

Our beautiful Documentation of Learning displays not only showcase the children's work, with pictures and words, they also show the creation process.

Hand's on experiences give children opportunities to practice new skills, work in small groups, and understand how everyday items come to be.

Birds, trees, and a deep blue sky. Inspiration is everywhere as children draw their experiences in the natural world.

Feather Painting - Children refined fine motor skills and compared pros and cons of a unique painting tool in this art experience.

Our unique Word of the Month program introduces children to all of the letters of the alphabet through nine words that build an engaging story.

Our print-rich environments include our Word of the Month sentence (watch it grow over the year) and many other examples of letters and words for children to explore.

Paint, markers, collage materials, and glue are always accessible so children can create works of art like this beautiful self-portrait.
