Child Care that Engages Your Toddler

Tutor Time’s Toddler program encourages children to use their bodies, senses and their emerging problem-solving skills to learn about and make sense of their world in the ways most meaningful and effective for them.

From “Five little monkeys jumping on the bed!” during Morning Circle Time to the daily exploration of Active Investigation Time, we balance individual attention with group experiences and ensure that your toddler is using all that energy in productive ways. Our teachers learn about your child’s interests and developmental level to design activities that will engage and inspire your child. From exploring a variety of art materials to putting on a puppet show of your child’s favorite story, he will experience activities that will engage his natural curiosity and creativity.

StartSmart curriculum

The StartSmart curriculum provides the three components of an early childhood curriculum: Developmentally appropriate experiences, engaging classroom spaces and responsive teacher-child relationships. All are designed to engage your child’s cognitive, emotional and physical development.

In the classroom

Our classrooms include areas for playing, learning, sleeping, eating and diapering that create a safe and empowering environment. The classrooms are also divided into general areas that meet your child’s need to:

• Move: Here children can use their muscles and bodies for crawling, climbing, jumping, dancing and playing games. This increases physical coordination skills and is a way young children make connections in their brains.
• Explore & Express: Our area for sensory exploration and creative expression. We encourage children to explore their inquisitive nature by experimenting with open-ended materials such as crayons, paint, water, sand, and modeling dough.
• Relax: Research shows that many behavioral problems stem from emotionally overwhelming social situations. Our child care rooms are quiet and cozy places where children and teachers can read books, tell stories or have conversations.

Whether it’s trying all the playground equipment or pouring cereal, our child care gives toddlers plenty of opportunities to investigate, explore and play in a safe, secure, yet stimulating environment. Our unique blend of education and care meets emotional needs while promoting good social skills and learning.
